May Inspiration - Joanne Bain

Hello!!

Joanne here with you today to share a couple of layouts and a tutorial with you featuring In The Mood, Deja'Vu and Tranquility collections. These have been mixed and matched and go together beautifully.

'Remember When'

The idea for this layout started with the large heart which was cut from the Blissful paper from the In The Mood collection. I cut the heart out and folded in half, I then rolled the top corner to expose the inside pattern paper, its such a pretty colour. From there I wanted to work with soft pastel colours so I chose to do a lot of fussy cutting from the Atelier patterned paper from the Deja'Vu collection.

The fussy cut pieces were then layered in amongst the layers of Blue Fern blooms to create a gorgeous main cluster. I chose to use a darker background to make the soft colours pop.

At the base of the cluster I have used the Romantic Page Dangles chipboard. This has been left raw as I feel the raw colour complimented the page.

To add softness to the page I then added frayed cheesecloth and coordinating cotton thread. The title for my page was cut from one of the page title strips that is normally cut off and discarded, but I always look because sometimes these are perfect for titles just like this one.

For my next page I created a page for my son. I am always asked do you ever scrap boys? Well yes it just depends if my son wants to play along and have his photo taken. So today I have created a layout with a tutorial so you can scrap the special boy in your life.

'Happy'

This layout features fussy cut images from the Patience patterned paper from the Tranquility collection. I think the colours and images were perfect for a boyish page and look not a flower in sight.

Throughout the cluster I have placed some of the Blue Fern Shabby Brick Bits chipboard which has been coloured lightly to coordinate with my page.

To frame the photo and add extra texture I have used some this Jute string, I love its natural colouring. I have also added a little sprinkling of seedlings to this.

Between layers I have again used a natural coloured frayed cheesecloth which I have in places coloured with coordinating watercolour paint.

How cute is that little bird? Once again I have used the patterned paper title label strips that are cut off the pattern paper. The Tranquility strips had those cute little blue butterflies.

Sharon's March Pages!

Hi Everyone!

It's so nice to be here again today!  I am excited to share 3 layouts that I made for March.  ♥

Without further ado, here are my projects . . .

Layout #1:  Memories. . .

Featuring Homespun:

I have been going through old photos and attempting to organize them.  In the process, I have found beloved pictures that I want to scrap!  This one is of my oldest daughter, Katie, and is a definite favorite of mine.  I loved telling her, through this scrapbook page, to keep her beautiful inner light shining!

I used the beautiful "Homemade" paper from the Blue Fern Studios Homespun Collection and mounted it on the Wanderlust "Road Trip" paper because I loved the newspaper look.  And I had an amazing time framing the photo with the beautiful swirly chipboard that I embossed with Goldenrod embossing powder.

Here are some close ups:

Here's my Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Homespun "Homemade," backed with Wanderlust "Road Trip"
Chipboard: Ornate Wreath, In the Mood Printed Chipboard Shapes, Homespun Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Goldenrod
Flowers: Happy Roses
Seedlings: Twig
Lace:  Ivory braided trim

Layout #2:  Best Friends . . .

Featuring In the Mood:

Again, as I went through my photos, I found an old one that I absolutely love.  It is one of my twin sister and me when we were toddlers.  Just look at those hair cuts!!  I love the way we were holding hands.

For this page I used "In the Mood" papers, flowers and printed chipboard!  I also used Shabby Brick Bits chipboard that I embossed and spruced up with some ink.

Here are some close ups for you to see:

And here is my Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: In the Mood "Peaceful;" backed with In the Mood "Ecstatic"
Chipboard: Shabby Brick Bits, In the Mood Printed Chipboard Shapes,

Layout #3: Family is a Circle of Love . . .

Featuring Amber & Apricot:

For my third and final layout, I used a recent photo that I took of my family with my tripod and timer at a nearby park!  We love this park and go for walks there all the time.  This photo was also used for our annual Christmas card.

I featured the amazing Amber and Apricot Collection here - it's so beautiful and a dream to work with.  Lace 9C is absolutely beautiful, too!

Here are some close ups so you can get a better look:

Hi Blue Fern Studios fan,

I am verry excited to share my 2 layouts made from the brand new collection Amber & Apricot.

For my first layout, I wanted to create a deep and romantic layout.
I choose the back side of the Chapiters paper to create my layout.
I add some modeling past trough two differents stencils and add 2 tones of brown and 2 tones of yellow ink to create my focal point.
I embosed the Krystal's frame large with Copper embossing powder and the Krystal's frame small with Honey embossing powder
Than I use pieces from Faded Bloom and Yesteryear papers to create dimention.
I use the Bits of honey stamp kit to add texture to my background.
I use some chipbaord of the coordinated chipboard to embellish my layout.
And I use the Apricot bloom,  Chestervill bloom and Garden life flowers to decorate my layout.
For the final touch, I use the Paprika and Mustard seedling un top of my ornements.

July inspiration by Tartine Peluche

Hi everyone!
I'm back to share with you my new layouts of month.

My first one is :

The young woman was silent ...

For this layout I have to work in layer, several paper of the collection Happy Accident,
a few paper cut and my chipboards.
I used Fortuity paper.
First my background is very simple a little cheese cloth here and there and some stamping with Serendipity medley and Grungy grid stamp.
In the foreground the title "Story" embossed with the embossing powder "Copper".
Under this one a chipboard of the kit "Spring Trinkets" embossed with Snow embossing powder, I then sprinkled with brilliant Burnt Copper.
On both sides of the title, the chipboard ginger's poppies embossed with Pink Dust embossing powder.
Which I cut in two and placed on two different layers under the photo
Under the top of the picture, we find part of the chipboard Holiday Deer
( No one said that deer live only in winter ... ;) But I removed the snowflakes from the chipboard.
I cut the chipboard so as to keep that central part for the top of my photo
the other two pieces of the chipboard are layered under the flowers on the right side of the photo.
I embossed them with Oatmeal embossing powder and distressed with light brown ink pad.
If we look again on the left side of the picture we find one of the kit chipboards Petite Boutique Frames.
I embossed it with the powder "Snow" then I made a crackle treatment and then I added pink ink to bring out the cracks.
Then I glued a piece of lace to the back.
I also used two deer from the kit "winter deer" I also embossed them with Oatmeal embossing powder and distresser with light brown ink pad.
I used small pink flowers from Courtship Roses kit.

Here is a few close ups:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My two others layouts featuring Garden Life paper

Capture life's moments

For the first of two, I used Felicity paper.
This background is a little more sophisticated than the first.
I started by creating my texture then I played with ink and stamps.
I really like the attached letter writing of "Serendipity Medley"stamp.
I used it with a black ink to create contrast.
Then with the chipboard "Shabby Brick Bits" I added a little more texture to my background.
I embossed it with "Snow" and applied a thin layer of blue opalescent paint.

To embellish my photo, I always opt for layers of paper, thus creating depth to my creation.
Between the different layers I added here, my flowers.
The daisy comes from the kit "Attic Charms Daisy" the roses come from the kit "Garden Blooms"
If you look on either side of my photo, I used a peony from the kit "Chesterville Blooms" that I cut in half.

As journaling for my layout I used few printed chipboards from Garden life
and "inspiration" come from Happy Accident printed chipboard.

Have you seen the new Rose Leaves chipboards? I love them! Here I painted them in green.
In the lower right corner of my page, there is a flower, normally white from Heartland Blossoms kit ...
A happy accident made him fall into my ink ... and became like that ... I find her pretty!

I kept the best for the end ... my butterflies! (Royal Monarchs)
First of all, I put white gesso, after I used two different inks, one green and one gold.
Then I made some white splash with gesso.
With a piece of lace that I inked with the same ink as my background,
I stuck to the back of my butterflies. I really like the result!
So, you know everythings ...

And some close ups:

Blossom Story

For this layout I've not did mixed media background.
I just played with the paper ... I cut it,  torn it, and distressed it.

I started with the paper "Flower Bed" which I drew the flowers with black pencil.
Each of the flowers one after the other ... I spent the day ...
I've used almost all the paper in entire.
Each of the cut parts placed on different layers under my photo.

My title "story" is embossed in white and then half of the top is embossed in purple.
I used Snow and Lavender Eggs embossing powder.

Butterflies are stamped on a paper of "Spring Parade / May Vignettes"
I used "Bourbon Street" and "Spring Accents" stamps

The "Looped Frames" and "Quatrefoil Panel" chipboards are simply embossed in white with Snow  embossed powder.
The small piece from Quatrefoil Panel is embossed with Baby Pink embossing powder.
I also added chipboard Leafed Bough that I cut into several pieces. I painted this one in green.

I used several yellow flowers of the kit "Garden Blooms" but I removed the central
part of the flowers to keep only the petal of the bottom.

See my close ups for all details.
