April Pages . . . created by Sharon!

Hi Everyone!

I have been anxiously awaiting Spring and it seems to finally be here. I am very happy and excited to be sharing the layouts that I created for April! ♥  So here goes . . .

My first two pages were made with the amazing "Wanderlust" collection:

I absolutely love this gorgeous collection!  To me, it is perfect for vacation and summer photos.

♥ My First Layout:  Fantastic Getaway

I fussy cut a favorite photo of my daughter, Anne, taken back in the Summer of 2013 to use as the basis for my page.  I thought it would be wonderful to use "Seascape" as my background paper.  Isn't the paper beautiful?

I featured 2 different laces here - Lace 6 and Lace 11.  And I LOVED embossing directly on my page using the Buttercup Embossing Powder along with one of the crackle texture stamps in the "sandy" area of the background paper.

Here are some close ups:

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Wanderlust "Escape"
Chipboard: Wanderlust Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Buttercup
Stamp: Crackle Texture
Flowers: Chesterville Blooms
Seedlings: Glass
Lace:  Lace 6, Lace 11

My Second Layout:  Enjoy the Journey

I found a wonderful photo of the carousel at Bryant Park that I took during one of our visits to NYC!  I thought the lyrics from a favorite Joni Mitchell song of mine, "Circle Game," would be perfect here.

Again, I thoroughly enjoyed using the paper from the Wanderlust Collection.  This time I picked  the flip side of "Pacific Coast" to use in my background:

I just love these beautiful colors!!

And I decorated the chipboard carousel horse here on my page, too.

Here are some close ups:

I also want to mention that I loved working with the Ivory, Green Ivory and Antique Gold embossing powders and the Wintergreen Seedlings to create my Carousel Horse!

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Wanderlust "Pacific Coast" and "Memento"
Chipboard: Carousel Horse, Wanderlust Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder:  Ivory, Green Ivory, Antique Gold
Flowers: Apricot Blooms, Chesterville Blooms
Seedlings: Wintergreen

I thoroughly enjoyed making both of these pages using Blue Fern Studios' Wanderlust
collection  - using all of their items made it a pleasure to scrap!

And my third page was made using the gorgeous "Remnants" collection:

My Third LayoutRemember this Day

I came across this treasured photo of my dad and I taken on my wedding day on March 3, 1990.  I have always loved this photo and thought that using the "Remnants" collection would be a perfect way to scrap it.

Just gorgeous!!!

I used the lyrics from Amy Grant and Gary Chapman's song
"My Father's Eyes."  I get teary eyed just thinking of this moment!!!

Some close ups:

I totally enjoyed using the Turkish Panel chipboard embossed with "Ivory" embossing powder!  And embossing directly on my page using the firework-like stamps from the "Christmas Collage" stamp set.

I am going to cherish this page for years to come thanks to the Blue Fern Studios products!

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Remnants "Westfield"
Chipboard: Turkish Panel, Remnants Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Ivory
Stamp: Christmas Collage
Flowers: Happy Roses, Fresh Florals, Remnants Florals
Seedlings: Mauve, Sterling Silver
Lace:  Lace 3

I hope that I inspired you to create.  I find that it easy and fun when I use BFS!!

Thank you so much . . . and happy scrapping everyone!

September Share by Karine

Hi,

I can't believe it's already the end of September! Were did the summer went? Oh my...

September 24th means it's my day here at Blue Fern Studios. So lets start with my first share.

A Walk on the Beach

You have probably seen this layout already, as I presented it September 1st for the moodboard reveal.

I started out with the Contemplation paper from the Serendipity collection.

All around my picture, I used some cards from the Calling Cards, along with some scrap pieces from the Fascination and Anticipation papers, also part of the Serendipity collection.

To add some interest to my background, I used the Brocade Texture and the Arcadia Textures stamps and embossed the patterns with snow Imagine Ink embossing powder. You can see some of the texture created on the picture above, over the flowers.

To embellish, I used some Seaside Lilies, Seaside Roses and Tranquil Roses and Lilies.

Lastly, my chipboard pieces, the Mesh Bits and my title (A Walk on the Beach) are covered with sandy paste and dry brushed with white gesso.

Glee

My second layout uses the Stillness paper from the Tranquility collection.

On my background, i used the Serendipity Medley and Essential Textures stamps.

I decided to cut apart the Dresden Corsage and to emboss the flowers I created with some Garnet Imagine Ink embossing powder.

To go with the flowers, I also used the Spring Branch that I cut in pieces and embossed with Fern Imagine Ink embossing powder. To add some interest, I used a sponge to add some white gesso while the powder was still hot.

I used some flowers from the Attic Charm Daisies set and some from the Tranquil Blooms set.

Finally, my title piece is part of the Serendipity Words 2 set. I coloured it with ink.

Delightful

Finally, my last layout is called Delightful. I started with one of my all time favorites collection: Ombré Dreams. The background paper here is called Ginger's Dream.

I used the Forever and Serendipity Medley stamps to stamp on my background.

I cut the Turkish panel and embossed the pieces with Imagine Ink snow embossing powder.

Over that, I used the Blooming Flourish that I cut and embossed with Sea Mist Imagine Ink embossing powder.

My title piece, part of The Optimist Word Set, is embossed with Auburn Imagine Ink embossing powder.

I hope it inspires you.
Have a nice day.

April Inspiration With Debbie

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with you today.    It's hard to believe that Spring is here.  It's been roller coaster of a ride with the temperatures.  One day in the 70's and the next day in the 40's.  I'm anxious to get outside and start prepping my flower beds, but I guess I am going to have to wait.  Hopefully next week it will warm up.  In the meantime, cooler temps makes for more scrappy time!  Today I have three  layouts to share created with the  Courtship Lane and Serendipity collections.
My first layout features papers from the Serendipity collection.   I used the Contemplation paper for the background and added some random stamping with the Arcadia Textures and Dreamy stamps.  The layers under the photo are from Calling Cards, Glee and Merriment. I also added flowers from the Courtship Blooms.

I took the Rose Collage chipboard and cut it in half.  I stamped it with some dark red and brown ink and then applied some Tattered Rose distress stain.  I then randomly applied  Dusty Rose Glitter.

Here you can see some of the Courtship Bloom flowers.  I added some Turkish Panel Chipboard pieces which I treated in the same fashion as the Rose Collage.

My title Anticipation is from the Serendipity Words 1.  To the right of the picture is the other half of the Rose Collage.

My next layout features papers and flowers from Courtship Lane and a treasured family photo.  I used side B of Bourbon Avenue for the background.  Some random stamping with the Brocade Texture and Romantic Textures stamps and some light masking.  Lots and lots of fussy cutting to add multiple layers under my photo.  I used the Main Street, Concert Hall and Calling Cards papers.  Scattered about you will find flowers from Courtship Roses and Courtship Blooms.

On both sides of my layout I used Organic Vine Corner chipboard which I embossed with Lilac and White embossing powers.  Tucked beneath the photo are pieces from the Spring Trinkets chipboard which I embossed with White and Fuchsia embossing powders.

The title was embossed with a mixture of White, Fuchsia and Mystic Plum Embossing Powders.

My final layout was created for the April Sketch Challenge.

I chose to scrap a photo of my mom, sister, brother and I from way back when.  I used the Lovers Lane side B paper for my background and the Parkway paper to create layering under my picture.  Lots of stamping on my background using the Dreamy, Romantic Accents and Arcadia Textures stamps and paint splatters.

I used a mixture of the Sage, Honey and Garnet embossing powders on the Tangier Page Panel chipboard,  along with some Peridot, Merlot, Pyrite and Grape Glitter.

Here you can see some of the new Courtship Bloom Flowers in brown and tan.  For those  interested that cute little girl in the picture is me!

To the right of my photo I used the Lace Heart Border which I embossed with the Sage and Honey embossing powers.  I added some gold microbeads and Peridot glitter.

My title is from the Captured Words chipboard set.  I went a little crazy with the embossing using a mixture of Sage, Honey and Garnet embossing powers along with some Pyrite glitter.

Courtship Lane inspiration by Pascale

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Blue fern Studios with 3 new projects using the Courtship Mane collection. .

In the first one I chose a photo of my daughter when she was almost 3 years old, no need to say it was some time ago.

And here is the beautiful sketch I follow to make the layout.

You still have time to upload your project until the 31st March here.

I started to add a layer of clear gesso to the background to protect it. While it was drying, I cut several strips in the Est Plaza paper. Then I glued them to the background and added a thin layer of white gesso. When dry, I stamped randomly with an archival black ink with the Garden Frolic design.

I added also a design with the Essentiel Textures and the Snow embossing Powder.

I primed the  French Word with white gesso and the Turkish Panel with clear gesso. Then I colored the chipboards with different colors of Twinkling H2Os.

I used the same colors on the background and the flowers in order to have a monochromatic layout. I finished the page with some glitters.

Blue fern Studios products used:

Courtship Lane collection - Bourbon Ave, Est Plaza, Calling Cards
Chipboards - Turkish Panel, French Words
Stamps - Essentiel Textures, Garden Frolic
Embossing Powder - Snow
Glitter - Dusty Rose, Peridot

-------------------------------------------------

My second layout with the Courtship Lane collection showcase a photo I've taken of my friend during our last photo shoot.

Here are some close-ups:

And a step-by-step video:

Blue Fern Studios products used:

Courtship Lane collection - Parkway, TwonGossip
Chipboards - Serenpidity Words 2, Folkart Frame
Stamps - Arcadia Textures, Vintage Edges
Embossing Powders - Sage, Verdant, Ginger
Flowers - Courtship Blooms

-------------------------------------------------

For the last layout I chose to work with the green paper from the collection. It was the perfect match for this photo of the Saint Martin Wash House I've bought during a trip to Rennes (France)

I started to apply a layer of clear gesso. Then I added a design with a light modeling paste and a stencil. While the paste was still wet I sprinkled several colors of embossing powders and heat set them.

I cover the Organic coins with a layer of clear crackle paste and let to dry. When the paste was completly dry, I colored it with a mica powder.

I colored the die-cut leaves with different shades of green and browns that match the photo and sprinkled them with different embossing powders and heat set them.

I used a Primary Element to color the Courtship Roses.

I  finished with splatters of black and white gesso and some random stamping with the Postal Textures stamp.

Blue Fern Studios products used:

Courtship Lane collection - Love Affair
Chipboard - Organic Coins
Embossing Powders - Nutmeg, Ginger, Verdant, Sage, Lime
Flowers - Courtship Blooms, Courtship Roses
Stamp - Postal Texture
